Why do I need to become a Christian?
That's a good question; in fact it's the best question you have ever asked.
What's in it for you?
A God that loves you and will stay by your side for the rest of your life, He will help you and show you love like no one else can.
An eternal life in heaven with a life so rich and amazing you can't even imagine it in your wildest dreams.
There's no more death or mourning or crying or pain, only the endless joys of exploration and discovery.
As it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Cor. 2:9
And best of all its all been paid for by Jesus dying on a cross for your sins, He did the hard part for you , all you have to do to be Saved is accept this incredible gift from Him.
Many people think that they are free because they think they don't have to answer to God or do anything they don't want to do. Let me tell you the only way anyone can be truly free is to be a Christian, people that are not Christians are nothing more than slaves to sin, they are the devil' toys and he whatever he wants to do with their lives because he know he owns them, if you want to feel what it's like to really be free then give Jesus a try you will then know freedom in a way you have never experienced it before.
The advantages to having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ include being free from sin's desires, and Satan's reign in your life. It is being loved with an everlasting love, and having the presence of God living within you just because He loves you. It is experiencing the peace that passes all understanding.
While God is patient, not desiring that any should be lost, it's not His decision to make. He's given it to you, knowing that without an alternative, your choice to voluntarily accept Him is meaningless. He loves you enough to risk that you'll make the wrong decision, and enough to abide by your wishes if you do. God never forces us to do anything we don't want to do.
There is much more joy and happiness in the Christian lifestyle than nun-believers know. Our Lord is always there for us. He is a good God, he is a way maker. We know that we will spend an eternity with him in heaven. He picks us up when we fall. He carries us in our deepest sorrows.
If you think you will lose your freedom you are wrong, being a Christian is the only way you can have freedom and become what your creator made you to be.
God created you for a reason and a purpose, He did not create you so you can make a lot of money and please yourself with the thing of this world, He had a purpose for you, and until you find out what that purpose is you can never truly be happy.
What if I don't accept Jesus but I'm a good person don't I get points for that?
Not really, Jesus is the only way to heaven and to avoid spending eternity in hell fire.
The Bible says
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The Bible teaches us that every one ever born lives forever. The question is not whether you have eternal life. The question is where you will spend eternity. There are only two possible destinations and we've described them both. Eternal bliss in the presence of God, or eternal shame and punishment banished from the presence of God.
Don't get me wrong. No one would knowingly choose to go to a place of eternal torment. But many will wind up there. When they do it'll be because they refused to choose Heaven, and it's the only other alternative.
These are just a few of the benefits of being a Christian.
So really it's up to you my friend, you have no one to blame but yourself if you make the wrong decision, God won't force you to do the right thing; He respects your right to free will too much to do that.
You do not need to make any changes to come to God. But God loves you too much too leave you just as you are. When you honestly turn your life over to Jesus, God will begin to change you from the inside out so that you will become more and more like Jesus. This time of change and preparation will continue all through your life here on earth.
II Corinthians 5:17-21
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their
trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in
Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
