Frequently Asked Questions
Q - How can I really understand the Bible?
A - With lots of studying, research and with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Anyone that does not have the Holy Spirit in their hearts cannot understand the Bible; if you read the Holy Bible as if it were just another book you will not fully understand it.
The Bible was written not only for people of that time but for us today, however we must keep in mind when studying God's word that this was written from two thousand to six thousand years ago, if we are to fully understand the true meaning we must put in the hours days and years to learn Jewish customs, Jewish feast days, and the way things worked back then.
Also the Bible was translated to English and no matter what you have been told there are some errors in the translation, so do yourself a favor, if you read something that just don't add up to the rest of the scriptures look up the original Greek word(s) to find out what Greek word was used and what it really means.
Also remember the KJV Bible was translated in 1611, so if you want to look up the meaning of a word they used you cannot use a 21st century dictionary because the meaning of the word has most likely changed so try to find an older dictionary for the meaning of the word back then. You can use this free online (The Online Etymology Dictionary)
Many people think they can just read a verse or two here and there and know what the Bible says and what it means, I got news for you it don't work that way.
That's why there are so many Christians out there that think they "know it all" when in fact they know little to nothing of the true meaning of God's word.
If you want to know the true meaning of the Holy Bible then start learning the history, customs and culture of the Jewish people. Without this knowledge you will not understand many reference made in the Bible.
Then as you read the Bible pray for understand, and don't just read a verse here and there, READ IT ALL and then go back to the beginning and start studying it chapter after chapter pray for understand every time you study and also do research, talk to others that truly study God's word, and NEVER EVER go by what brainwashed church goers tell you it means.
When you study a subject keep an open mind and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth, NEVER start a study with you mind already made up that you in fact know the answer if you do you are wasting your time because it is a fact if you lead your study with the mind frame that you know the answer you will surely find scriptures to support that belief because you will twist the scriptures and take verses out of context and make them support you belief.
Again I will say if you want the truth ALWAYS study with an open mind and understand that your beliefs may be wrong, after all is you are sure you know all the answers why even study?
The people that go to church and have their minds made up of what the Bible teaches are the worse people in the world to get through to, they have been lied to so many times by their false businessman (pastor) that they would not see the truth if it were right in front of them, I really think there will be brainwashed Christians that tell Jesus when they see him "Lord I think maybe you are wrong, the Bible doesn't say that, you need to talk to pastor so and so Lord he knows the Bible better then you do".
Don't be surprised if your pastor is one of those people that Jesus is talking to when he says "depart from me I never knew you" Do you want Jesus to say those same words to you also? Well then better find that Bible dust it off and start reading it every day.
It's all well and good to have your beliefs but if those beliefs do not cause you win souls to Christ, to help the poor and to bless those around you with the light of Christ then what good are they?
People are always telling me what they believe. Don't tell me what you believe show me what you believe by the way you live and the things you do and do not do.
Remember this saying "It makes no difference what you believe, if what you believe makes no difference"
Do you make a difference? Are you Christ like?
Think about it!
