Frequently Asked Questions
Q - What is your understanding of Mark 13:32 about "but of that day and that hour knows no man"?
A - Let's start with the verse 31:
Mark 13:31-32
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32 But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
This is referring to heaven and earth passing away and not the rapture or even the start or end of the tribulation.
In the original Greek manuscripts there were no chapters, verses, or punctuation so these verses would have read:
heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away but of that day and that hour knows no man no not the angels which are in heaven neither the Son but the Father
By removing the punctuations that were placed there in the late 1500's it makes it clear that when Jesus said "but of that day and that hour knows no man no not the angels" he was talking about when heaven and earth pass away. This same thing applies in the verses in Matthew 24
Most Christians believe these verses are referring to the rapture or the second coming and they are very misled and most of them are so set in their false beliefs they won't even consider the truth. May God have mercy on them for their ignorance.
Jesus said the Holy Spirit "will teach you all things" (John 14:26). He said "all things." Did Jesus make a mistake, forgetting to exclude when He will return? I don't think so.
These Christians will find that the blind acceptance of the TRADITIONAL teaching of 'but of that day and that hour knows no man' has hidden the truth of God's word as it has to do with the day of the Rapture.
Jesus Himself warned of what tradition can do to understanding God's word when He said to the Pharisees in Matt 15:6: "you make void the word of God by your traditions. "
God bless you all.
