Frequently Asked Questions
Q - Is there a Literal Hell or is it just a state of death?
A - YES, Hell is very real and anyone that goes there will remain there forever!
So who is going there? Everyone that does not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior.
Jesus Christ spoke more on hell than any other subject. Just look at how Jesus described hell:
What is Hell?
The Bible makes many references to Hell throughout its pages
Hell is a real place!
The bottom line is - Hell is real and those who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Personal Lord and Savior will end up there:
"Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).
"The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:41-42).
Jesus Christ doesn't "send" anyone to hell. It was created for Satan and his demons. We send ourselves to hell when we refuse His gracious offer of salvation through eternal life:
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"
Jesus spoke more often about hell than He did about heaven. Still, no one talks much about hell today; no one likes to think about hell. However, anyone who denies that Hell is real is actually denying the work of salvation that the Messiah paid for on the cross, because He died to offer us eternity and to save us from "hell".
...the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. (Luke 16:22-28)
The Bible teaches that hell is a real place, prepared for the devil and his demons, and those who refuse God's gracious offer of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ the Messiah who was our Final Sin Sacrifice. The bottom line is, hell is a real place and not just eternal separation from God the Father!
You can't pick and chose what you want to believe; if there is no hell then there is no heaven and no salvation so think about that!
